The Family Farm
Laurel H. Piggott and his wife Frances began growing vegetables together in 1948.
The original 44 acre farm is still the center of the farming operation which has grown to over 600 acres. Mr. Piggott purchased his first tractor in 1949. It was a Model 8N Ford.
People often ask how the name L. H. Piggott & Girls came to be. L. H. and Frances had six daughters and no sons. The girls helped their parents with the farm and so it being a family farm was named L. H. Piggott & Girls.
Today, the two youngest daughters are actively involved in the operations. Kathleen manages the Planting and Packing Operations and Laurie oversees the Recording Keeping. In addition, the next generation, George (Laurie's son & L. H.'s grandson) oversees the Retail Market.
